Someday School is an asynchronous (that is, not real time) Christian education ministry focused on Community of Christ texts and coordinated by members of the Central Kentucky small group of Community of Christ. Every week, we focus on the main lectionary scripture for that week as well as a passage from a distinctive Community of Christ text, like Sharing in Community of Christ.
We use the Hypothesis social annotation software to let us discuss these texts without having to be in the same room. If you see any highlighted text on a page, you can click or tap on that to bring up comments that other people have left behind related to that text. You can also click on the <
button in the top-right corner of your web browser to bring up all of the comments left on a particular page.
If you sign up for your own Hypothesis account (by clicking on the Sign up
link in the Hypothesis interface or by going here), you can join in the conversation by replying to other people’s comments and leaving your own comments (by highlighting some text and then clicking Annotate
when that comes up). For now, all of our commenting is public, to make it as easy as possible for people to join in the conversation. However, this makes it very important for us to be respectful of others! It’s okay for different people to have different responses to particular texts, but it’s usually best to share our own thoughts rather than criticize others'.
A new post will come up on the Someday School homepage every Monday and will stay up for about a week. If you’d like email reminders when new posts come up or when time is running out to comment, please sign up for the Someday School newsletter here.
